The Friends is an organization made up of community residents who help sponsor many of the "extra" events that make the Taunton Public Library special. Funds raised by the Friends through membership dues and book sales help the library purchase needed items such as audiocassettes, videos, and museum passes.
From September through June the Friends organize monthly books sales and cultural programs. Cultural programs and events, which are held in the Library Auditorium and are free and open to everyone, are offered on the second Thursday night of each month and begin at 7 P.M. .
